This class meets on Fridays in the classroom and Wednesday for Field Day.
This class will be an immersive experience, taking students on a journey back in time to explore the Middle Ages and Renaissance period. Through lectures, activities, and class discussions, they will gain a comprehensive understanding of the period, from 1587 The Dawn of New Age to 1954 The Brave New World, including the impacts of the Great Depression. Students will gain a deeper appreciation of the time by delving into topics such as politics, fashion, music, and the feudal system, and analyzing geography, economy, and the social classes of the era. They will also be able to create their own family coat of arms and take part in a Middle Ages dinner party. With engaging literature, writing, and hands-on projects, students will gain an insightful understanding of this historical period, its people, and its legacy. Assigned readings and research will help students piece together the history puzzle, while engaging in fun activities to write about memorable moments in history.
