Leaping ELM (English Language & Math) $400/month

$0.00

6th-9th Grade

This class meets Mondays and Thursdays in the classroom and Wednesday for Field Day.

All of our ELM Streams are two days/ week in the classroom and one day out on the field program provides not only an enriched, individualized, and thoughtful experience for our students but also builds a community. Our teachers and assistant teachers are dedicated to teaching math, language arts, and computer skills such as coding in small groups throughout the day.

Through this academically-focused and challenging English Language Arts and Math Program, we strive to instill a love of learning and a passion for exploration. Our approach combines the structure, organization, and peer collaboration of a traditional classroom, with the flexibility, creativity, and autonomy of a homeschool lifestyle. Groups of 16 or fewer students will collaborate on group projects and engage in high-interest, creative, hands-on learning activities. In order to exceed standards and incorporate life skills, our curriculum is custom designed.

Leaping Elm Students are eager to take on the enjoyable task of strengthening their writing abilities, such as through Comprehensive Composition, Speech and Debate, through classroom conversations, and Multidisciplinary projects. They will learn the distinguishing characteristics of each writing form and hone their capacity to support, plan, and articulate ideas in multi-paragraph essays. Focused instruction in the six traits of writing—purpose, organization, voice, word selection, sentence fluency, and mechanical correctness—will be provided. Groups of students will work together on Multidisciplinary projects, making a business or solving a problem. Moreover, through Dave Ramsey's Financial Peace and Debt-Free Degree, they will develop essential life skills in mathematics, such as creating a stock portfolio, understanding interest rates, buying and financing a car and a home, and managing credit cards—all with an entrepreneurial spirit.

Wednesday is optional and you can come to all or pick and choose which to participate. Drop-off or stay.

Tuition is $4000 per year for 2 days/week. Paid in full or in 10 equal monthly payments of $400/month August-May. Due on the 1st of every month. Families who join the class after August will be required to pay a $400 material fee.

Additionally a $300 non-refunable registration fee due at time of registration to secure spot in the class. When enrolling in the class only the registration fee will be charged.
